If you’ve not already heard by now, YTL is finally launching their 4G services. Yes you heard that right !! On the 19th of November there will be an official launch and your’s truly has been invited. Before the unveiling of their services and price plan to the public there was a soft launch on the 3rd of November and I for one was really excited to see the solution provided by YTL.

What makes YTL 4G service a little different from their competitors is that they are boasting voice services that will be already integrated with the mobile internet. Instead of having to subscribe to a voice plan, a mobile Internet plan and a mobile broadband plan, you can get everything in one simple plan with Yes.

Yes claims to have 3 to 5 times faster speed than 3G and when a demo was performed the speeds was indeed impressive. We’ll just have to wait and see how consistent the speeds are when there’s few thousand people using the service.

Apart from that Yes promises to charge for the data that you use, just like electricity. With 65% coverage around Malaysia upon launching you can be certain that most major cities are already covered, even when you’re travelling at 120km/h along the North-South Highway !!

What really caught my interest is that you don’t need to have SIM-card to use Yes. It connects via your Yes-ID allowing you to login via multiple devices or borrow a friends phone when your’s is out of battery !! Contacts etc are now stored on the cloud making you truly portable. There’s even news of an Android device in the pipeline !!

We also took a tour around Lot 10 at the payment counters, touch screen display wall and well as the infamous “cube” that can be seen at the junction of Lot 10. IMPRESSIVE !!

Do register and book your favourite user ID as that will be the login ID you will use to access Yes services. Faster grab it before someone registers it first !!
